A whole lot of living goes on in the space between the kitchen and the backyard. Depending on what climate change dishes up on any given week, we could be watching the lawn grow or grilling in a foot of snow. A south-facing deck is a must in the Cape Breton Riviera; it catches the breeze on a warm summer day and the sun's rays in the dead of winter. And the view's not bad either!
