Magical Time of Year

We're a week into December and I just got around to trying on my Magic Xmas Pants to see if they are going to fit this year. And right now, they do - but I still have 2 weeks to potentially outgrow them.

Our beef and pork arrived from Norman this week, so we're about a month behind last year for smoking bacon. Tomorrow I am going to make cider from the remainder of the apples that are getting soft down in the cold room, and the cider (along with a few other magical ingredients) will go into the brine for the pork belly. The first panettone is humming away in the bread machine, and it's time to start thinking about putting the X back in Xmas!
