Pastel de tres leches

Spiced Banana Tarte Tintin

Friday night I caught Daniel with the cast iron frying pan full of butter blobs and 6 naked bananas. He quickly covered up the scene with a blanket of puff pastry. What was he up to?

For half an hour the smell of bananas, rum, and caramel floated from the oven; then the frying pan was removed, put on the stove top once again to loosen the gooey goodness, and inverted onto a plate.
Spiced Banana Tarte Tatin (not Tintin)

Until then, I thought Tintin Tatin was some comic book character from his youth.

even looks like Daniel
The back story is that Daniel had been watching Chef Ramsay's latest cooking show and saw him make this dessert. He added his own twist with a splash of black rum and brown sugar (not to give away any secrets). We also think it would be fabulous with apples from Mummy's trees ... or mangoes.
