Prezenting ... Saturday!

Saturday was beautiful, but first I had to get stoked to bake a cake: a quick trip to St. Peter's to pick up unsalted butter (and wine) + swing by the marina to unplug a boat for a friend followed by a few practice runs on the snowboard jump in the backyard in the sunshine. 


Chocolate Cake with Creme won the Cheryl's Birthday Cake poll with 70% of the vote., so I had no choice but to make it on Saturday afternoon. The little cakes turned out well, but did not make the 12 ramekins-worth the recipe said it would; 9 was the final count. The creme was the most complicated part, and tasted fantastic, but wasn't cold enough by the time I whipped it so was more like a "sauce" than a "dollop".
