Epic Relaunch

Bluenose II relaunch is next weekend in Lunenburg, and it's going to be EPIC! The Queen of the North Atlantic (hell, arguably the entire Atlantic) will let her backbone slide ... into Lunenburg Harbour,  around 8am.

Launch event details here. I'm planning on backyard camping at Dancing Dave Evans' house Saturday night; but before then, I'm going to bake him some brioche in the bread machine and bring along a dozen fresh free-range eggs in hopes that I can upgrade to some indoor floorspace for the night.

If you haven't already booked couch/floor/tent space in your friend's yard in L'burg, I highly recommend that you do it tonight ... and pack your rain gear. Your Thursday night conversation with your girl/boyfriend goes like this:
Your Girl/Boyfriend: So honey, what should we do this weekend?
You: Well, I don't know about you, but I'm going to be part of history in Lunenburg at the relaunch of Bluenose II.
Your Girl/Boyfriend: Seriously?
You: Totally, dude.
Really, Matt Mays said it best in his song Building a Boat
"I'm gonna leave you for her someday baby, it's just a matter of time."

No doubt Matt Mays will be singing this song Saturday night at the outdoor stage at the L'burg waterfront; other entertainment lined up: Alan Doyle (of Great Big Sea), Lennie Gallant, Laura Smith and more. No, it  probably won't be any fun, nor will there be any Mount Gay involved. And we won't dress in period attire and try to sneak aboard.
