Vanadis (more sailing)

We were in the middle of pushing Daniel's dysfunctional truck into the garage on Tuesday, when Annick called to invite us out for a sail on Vanadis. Naturally, we dropped everything, threw some refreshments and snacks in the cooler, and left for the LPYC in D'Escousse just across Lennox Passage from the Riviera.

There wasn't much wind at first, so we motored out into the passage, snacked on smoked emu and Triscuits, and went swimming. The water was amazingly warm, of course. This scallywagging resulted in Backyards & Kitchens first film ever: White Whale (rated PG, no time for popcorn)

All of a sudden the wind came up, so we sailed into the Riviera and tied up at the River Bourgeois Mariner's Society wharf.

Then it was time for a BBQ! There were steaks from Annick's galley and fresh veggies from our greenhouse and Mummy's garden.

In my infinite wisdom, I ran the 3K to our house barefoot  in a bikini and sarong, at 4pm in the hot sun, to fetch the car so that I could transport everyone. It was fun at the time, but it was only my second barefoot run since ditching my runners the previous day; I am now sporting aching calves and matching blisters on the balls of both feet with my MOH aisle walk and dancing all night at BFF's wedding looming on Saturday. Our Aloe Vera plant has taken a beating this week soothing sunburns and my blistery balls (of feet!)
